13 - 2008 Original Broadway Cast13 - 2008 Original Broadway Cast

One of the most eagerly-awaited new musicals of the 2008-2009 Broadway season - a grown-up story about growing up, featuring the only all-teenage cast ever to hit Broadway!

Music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown and book by award-winning children's author Dan Elish and screenwriter Robert Horn.

With an unforgettable rock score from Tony-Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, 13 is a hilarious, high-energy musical for all ages about discovering that cool is where you find it, and sometimes where you least expect it. When his parents get divorced and he's forced to move from New York to a small town in Indiana, Evan Goldman just wants to make friends and survive the school year. Easier said than done!

The year was 1980, and Patti LuPone was starring in 'Evita' on Broadway and en route to winning the Tony Award for Best Actress in a musical, and cementing her status as a superstar! But there was another Patti LuPone performance taking place - one that only a comparative handful of people were aware of: Every Saturday night at midnight, for 27 weeks, after performing one of the most demanding roles ever, she made her way to Les Mouches - the legendary New York nightclub to perform her cabaret show - a one-woman tour de force - literally the hottest ticket in town. Everybody who was anybody was there, from Andy Warhol to Stephen Sondheim!

Now, Ghostlight Records have released a digitally-restored CD of performances taken from this historic series of shows. This performance has never been available before, in any format, and includes many unexpected song choices, from Patti Smith, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan, to Broadway show tunes including Don't Cry For Me Argentina, Not While I'm Around and Meadowlark.

Reefer MadnessReefer Madness - 2-CD Collectors Edition

From Ghostlight Records, a 2 CD release of Kevin Murphy and Dan Studney's musical Reefer Madness, featuring both the original Los Angeles Cast Recording and the subsequent TV musical soundtrack. Also includes new author notes, written by Murphy & Studney, and a "flipover booklet," which contains artwork and lyrics for both CDs.

The 1936 propaganda film of the same name, created to depict the dangers marijuana use, reached cult status with its camp appeal and outlandish scenarios. Composer Kevin Murphy and lyricist Dan Studney adapted the property into the stage musical that debuted in Los Angeles, played an Off-Broadway run and was later adapted into Showtime musical film.

The musical's creator states, "This double CD of Reefer Madness marks the culmination of a ten year journey for us. It began in 1997, during a road trip back from San Francisco, where we got the idea that it might be fun to write a musical about singing, dancing potheads. Being in San Francisco can give you ideas like that."
