Make Me A SongMake Me A Song: The Music Of William Finn - 2007 Off-Broadway Cast (2 CD)

Make Me A Song: The Music of William Finn showcases the words and music of one of the most acclaimed composer-lyricists writing for musical theatre today. From the Tony Award-winning shows Falsettos and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee to Romance in Hard Times and Elegies plus the unproduced The Royal Family of Broadway, Finn's wit, irreverence and sensitivity have touched the hearts and minds of a generation of theatre lovers. Make Me A Song is as big, boisterous and life-loving as Finn himself.

This third musical revue (after Infinite Joy and Elegies) was conceived and directed by Rob Ruggiero. It premiered at Hartford's Theaterworks in the summer of 2006 and opened off-Broadway in November 2007 featuring performers Sandy Binion, D.P. Bonds, Adam Heller,
Sally Wilfert and pianist Darren R. Cohen.

"..'All I'm asking for is perfection' goes a line from the title song of the new revue "Make Me a Song," handily encapsulating the work ethic and personality of composer-lyricist William Finn.
The songwriter is notably irascible, but this songfest should leave him tickled. In a word, it's Finntastic."
